Historic Union Station Broadway Bridge It's hard to imagine Union Station without the color-coordinated Broadway Bridge, which crosses the Willamette River north of the station, then wraps as Broadway heads south into the heart of Portland. Yet the bridge was constructed nearly two decades years after the station, in 1913. It has been painted red for since anyone can remember, and is the perfect counterpart to Union Station.. The west bridge approaches provide some of the finest view of Union Station. This view also shows the McCormick Pier apartment development that fronts the Willamette south of the bridge. Next Image >
