Salmon River Gorge March 1983 Expedition Stein Falls

The approach to Stein Falls makes an abrupt turn to this full view of the large cataract on the Salmon River. From here, the mist blowing down the canyon from the falls creates a heavy white haze, and the tree limbs along the canyon sway in the breeze created by the falls. This lower drop in Stein Falls is roughly 75 feet high, and presents a wild, primeval scene.
