Silver King Mine
One of the bits of unfinished business at Henline Falls was exploring the remains of the Silver King Mine. The mine was constructed in the late 1800s and operated into the early 1900s, before being abandoned. This photo shows Greg and Ted near the ruins that flank the trail near Henline Falls (the base of the falls can be seen behind Greg and Ted, in the background). A similar concrete ruin is located above the falls, and suggests that both were part of a waterworks associated with the mine.
From here, the trail curves past the ruins to the base of the falls, where the mine tunnel disappears into the cliff. Armed with headlamp, Ted ventured into the mine to capture the photos that follow...
