Another view
of massive, old-growth Douglas fir, western redcedar and western
hemlock rising high above the canyon floor. Many of these trees
have survived for 300 years, or more, dodging wildfires, rockslides,
floods and European settlers. These huge sentinals are often
6 feet in diameter, and 250 feet (25 stories!) tall. |
