Darlingtonia Colony

Another, somewhat closer view of the first colony of Darlingtonia along the boardwalk. In this view, the cycle of life for each "pitcher" can be seen - the bright green stalks are new growth, and the mottled red "pitchers" are older, dying stems. A thick mat of dried stems has accumulated below the living plants.
