South Sawyer Glacier

The panorama above combines six images, and shows the full two-mile terminus of the South Sawyer Glacier, representing a 300 degree view. The close-up panorama below shows more detail of the collapsing edge of the glacier. The thousands of icebergs in the wake of the glacier provide breeding grounds for harbor seals.
In the above view, the "eagle" formation in the ice can be seen right of center. A close-up view (below) shows the "eagle" just as house-sized blocks of ice are calving into the ocean, continuing the supply of icebergs in this spectacular display of the forces of nature and weather.
